The main rail connection in the area is the line running down the Aire Valley, from Morecambe/Lancaster to Leeds/Bradford, taking in Hellifield, Long Preston, Gargrave, Skipton, Cononley, Steeton & Keighley. Trains are pretty regular at peak times, around every 15 minutes.
There is also a Northern rail link towards Scotland, the Settle to Carlisle track which cross the infamous Ribblehead Viaduct.

Buses |

Buses. Hmm. We failed to find anything useful on the web about local bus companies. And I'm not about to sit here tapping timetables in on their behalf, if they can't be bothered to put them on themselves. I can, however tell you a bit about them. Most Towns and Villages in the area are covered by bus routes, the main route being Skipton to Keighley, run by Keighley & District buses. Some of these go direct, while some detour through villages and smaller towns like, Cross Hills, Bradley and Cononley. There is also a regular bus service to more backwater villages with the famous bright orange buses from The Pennine Bus Company, they run routes like Skipton to Burnley, taking in Barnoldswick, Earby and Carleton-in Craven. They also run a regular services to Settle and Malham, taking in most of the towns and villages en-route. For more information, call Pennine Motors on (+44) 01756 749215.
There is also a national express service that runs from Skipton and Keighley, so you can pretty much get to anywhere in the UK and back using them.

Road Network |

The road network in the area is pretty good, with the Aire Valley main road running from Skipton to Keighley. From Keighley, a trip to Bradford can be a bit hit and miss, due to traffic bottlenecks at Bingley and Shipley. Bradford can be reached in around ½ hour if traffic is good, at rush hour it can end up taking you 1½ hours. Leeds is also reachable within 30-40 minutes I traffic is good. Again, avoid the rush hour like the plague. Manchester and Preston can be reached within an hour or so by getting on the M65 at Colne.
